Geokompetenzzentrum Freiberg e. V.

The Geokompetenzzentrum Freiberg e.V. is a triple helix network of industry, science and administration along the value chain of mineral raw materials and energy sources including conventional ones such as coal, oil, natural gas and geothermal energy. Its industry partners are consultants, planners and developers from the mining and geotechnical sectors as well as infrastructure development. The office of the 160-member network is located in Freiberg with a powerful administrative background for network maintenance, member support and coordination of research and network projects with a special focus on IP/innovation management, qualification measures in the context of business field expansion and securing skilled labor, work on policy papers and development concepts for securing raw materials and site development at regional, national and EU level.

Silicon Saxony e. V.

Silicon Saxony e. V. connects more than 360 manufacturers, suppliers, service providers, universities, research institutes and public institutions in Saxony and beyond. This makes the industry network for micro- and nanoelectronics, software, applications and smart systems the most successful in Europe. With the goal of sustainably strengthening the economic region as an ICT location, the association sees itself as a communication and cooperation platform for its members.

Smart composites ERZgebirge

Smart composites ERZgebirge (SmartERZ) is one of 20 selected projects of the funding initiative "Change through Innovation in the Region (WIR!)" of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, which is managed by the Wirtschaftsförderung Erzgebirge GmbH based in Annaberg-Buchholz. Currently, more than 160 partners are already involved in the regional alliance of representatives from business, science and society. The focus of the project is the functionalization of innovative material composites (smart composites), which lays the foundation for sustainable innovation-based structural change in the Erzgebirge region and serves to secure skilled labor in the region.

Smart Rail Connectivity Campus

The Smart Rail Connectivity Campus (SRCC) establishes a center for research, development, testing and qualification for approval in the promising innovation field of Smart Rail in the Ore Mountains. At the same time, the SRCC also aims to strengthen the innovative power and competitiveness of companies in the region. Starting from the primary innovation field, the campus will also form a focal point for innovations in the regionally strong mechanical and plant engineering and automotive sectors, particularly in overarching technology fields such as sensor technology, drive technology, digitization, telecommunications and human-technology interaction.

The ICM is a high-performance Saxon research institute that stands for innovations and system solutions in mechanical and plant engineering. Deutsche Verkehrswissenschaftliche Gesellschaft e. V. – BV Sachsen

The DVWG currently has about 2,200 individual and corporate members. It maintains diverse national and international exchange memberships with important associations and institutions in transportation and logistics. An important goal of the society is the improvement and development of the intermodal and interdisciplinary exchange between science, economy and politics in all matters of transport. It is a neutral platform for the transfer of knowledge and experience between theory and practice of transport development and is oriented towards sustainable transport development.
